GMA Network inks partnership with South Korean Embassy to the Philippines

GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon (left) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong Man (right) to promote the Korean culture in the Philippines. This is also in line with the 70thanniversary of the diplomatic ties between the Republic of the Philippines and South Korea.

“This is a welcome development because as you know, the Korean programs are very popular here in the Philippines. I just told the Ambassador that we are responsible for introducing the Korean programs to the Philippine audience. They know what we’re good at and we know what they’re good at. We’ll just put those things together and I think it will be a very good partnership,” said Gozon.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Han Dong Man shared that it is also his job to bring more Korean visitors to the Philippines. “To celebrate our anniversary, I think the role of the media is quite important. I think that GMA will play a certain role to promote the Korean culture as well as the Korean telenovela in the society of the Philippines.”

Also present to witness the signing were GMA First Vice President and Head of International Operations Joseph T. Francia and GMA First Vice President for Program Management Jose Mari Abacan.
