Negros Occidental holds 32nd Negros Trade Fair

The country’s longest-running provincial trade fair in Metro Manila, the Negros Trade Fair, will once again embark on September 27-October 1, 2017 at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. The said trade fair provides venue for the small and medium enterprises of Negros to showcase their products ranging from food, natural and organic, fashion accessories and garments, furniture and furnishing, gifts décor and housewares.

The Department of Tourism Region Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas said the agency will participate in this event as a support to Negros Occidental. She said DOT Region VI continued to provide support and financial assistance to Negros Occidental, even during the period of Negros Island Region, as if the province never left Western Visayas.

“Negros Occidental is Western Visayas’ top destination for same-day visitors and third highest tourist arrivals in 2016. The province is also favored as part of familiarization tours and post-event tours along with the Province of Iloilo, Iloilo City and Guimaras”, Director Catalbas explained.

Director Catalbas cited Negros Occidental and Bacolod City tourism products vary from nature-based, cultural, leisure and entertainment, meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (MICE), diving and marine sports and educational tourism.

The Negros Trade Fair records an average of 1,500 international visitors, balikbayans and local visitors every day.

“DOT Region VI congratulates Negros Occidental for 32 years of hosting the Negros Trade Fair. The success of this event reflects the hardwork and cooperation of Negrenses to strengthen the tourism industry of the province, contributing to the over-all excellent performance of Western Visayas tourism sector” Director Catalbas concluded.
