MBPTF to join DOT VI Boracay trainings



Metro Boracay Police Task Force (MBPTF) will be joining the trainings and seminars of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI in Boracay to ensure peace and be well-oriented for the reopening of Boracay Island.

The DOT VI is now conducting series of trainings for the Boracay frontliners, stakeholders and indigenous people, wherein the Metro Boracay Police Task Force shows support and will also participate to enhance the police service for the reopening of the island for tourism activities later this year.

MBPTF expressed their interest to join DOT VI trainings such as Training on International Standards for Hospitality Service, Tourist Security and Safety Seminar and First Aid and Basic Life Support. They will also undergo Seminar on Effective Customer Service Experience, TOP COP (Phase I and II) and Foreign Language Training.

They task force will also join the Stakeholders Core Group Meeting initiated by the DOT to be informed of stakeholders’ concerns in the island and actions to be taken. MBPTF said they can better address security concerns in Boracay Island with the help of the Core Group.

“The DOT Region VI is grateful for the support of Metro Boracay Police Task Force and they are very much welcome to participate in our trainings. We also want all authorities and workforce are tourism-oriented during the reopening of Boracay Island so the quality of services offered will be better”, DOT VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas said.

DOT Region VI already conducted Training on International Standards on Hospitality Service (Batch 1) July 11-12, 2018, while Batch 2 and the Tourism Awareness Seminar/ Community-Based Tourism are slated to be implemented on August 6-7, 2018. More trainings including the Tourism Enterprise Innovation and Self Reinvention Techniques Seminar and Product Development, Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Store Layouting are scheduled on August 13-14, 2018 and August 20-21, 2018, respectively.

Meanwhile, four trainings are scheduled for September and three more on October for Boracay frontliners, stakeholders and indigenous people.
