GT Town Center Pavia opens to the public

The Tan family together with VIP Guests Senator Franklin Drilon, Governor Arthur Defensor Sr., Congressman Art Defensor Jr., Mayor Mike Gorriceta, Mayor of Pavia, and Mayor Joe Espinosa III, mayor of Iloilo, Herbert Sy, CEO and President of SM Markets, and celebrity Giselle Sanchez cut the ribbon to open the mall to the public.


Sen. Drilon gave the opening remarks and lauded the progress of Iloilo, with malls and BPOs opening which means more and more investors believe in the growth of Iloilo.

Mr. Allan Tan, VP for Real Estate and Land Dev for GT Town welcomed guests and thanked their tenants and supporters and presented the legacy of his Go-Tan grandparents, the family’s first township project.

“Great Things are going to happen with GT” to quote Mr. Allan Tan. The commercial mall is the first phase of the town project, which will be later followed by the BPO and Business units in the next phase, then the residential development (condos) for the next phase. Architect Hubert Co was in charge of the mall look, while the GT group commissioned the Palafox Associates to do urban planning for their first township. This came from a vision of work, play, and green living spaces for the Ilonggos.

 

After the mall construction, the park construction will be next and should be up in the next few months. It is envisioned to have a small aviary and some animals as well, for children to view, as well as spaces for fun get-togethers for the general public. It is a Green Town. The trees were not uprooted during construction, but preserved, and will be where the park is located. It also has an addition of waste management and waste water treatments in line with the eco-friendly. The GT Town Center is also pet-friendly area so expect people to bring in their pets.

Tenants of the mall are mostly local and home-grown entrepreneurs. GT offers everything one needs: a supermarket, a department store, an appliance store, electronics and mobile phones, a medical and diagnostic center, fashion and jewelry stores, party needs, printing shops, restaurants and cafes, spas and salons, pharmacies, optical shops, and government services (SSS, LTO, Pag Ibig, NBI, etc). Nearby towns and areas are actually served and there is no longer any need to go to the city for one’s needs. There are also many housing developments in the Pavia area and the nearby homes will benefit from the proximity of the mall which will cater to their daily shopping and business needs.
