TPB and DOT VI conduct product-update in Iloilo, Capiz and NegOcc

Emerging tourist attractions/activities in Iloilo, Roxas City, Capiz and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental were included on the recently concluded Familiarization Tour-Product Update Program for tour operators and travel trade media by the Tourism Promotions Board-Domestic Promotions Department in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region VI.

Itinerary of the group includes eco-park and river cruise in Capiz, overnight stay in Sicogon Island, island hopping in Concepcion, tour of Iloilo City and heritage tour in Negros Occidental.

DOT Region VI Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas said this product update aims to update the traveling public of the newest tourism destinations/attractions in the Philippines. She added the tour involves assessment of the destinations/attractions, inspection of facilities available in the area and product presentation, business-to-business and networking sessions.

Director Catalbas cleared that this office is also vigorously promoting the provinces of Antique and Guimaras. “In fact”, she said, “Antique and Guimaras has been featured in travel magazines and travel shows, both international and local since February to June 2017”.

“Each of the provinces of Western Visayas has their own distinct tourism product and services to offer. Exploring Region VI reveals a fusion of adventure, heritage and culinary experience”, Director Catalbas stressed.
