DOT-VI to conduct TISP Seminar in Bacolod

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI continues to give tourism stakeholders opportunities to become competitive through the Tourism Industry Skills Training Program (TISP).
This month, DOT-VI is bringing the said program to Bacolod City as it is scheduled to conduct a Tourism Enterprise Innovation and Self-Reinvention Techniques (Towards Achieving Service Excellence and Desired Results) Seminar on April 9-10 at Sugarland Hotel. A similar training seminar was concluded in Iloilo City on April 5-6 at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel.

The two-day seminar aims to assist tourism establishment owners especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) on how to effectively and efficiently run their businesses using innovation techniques.

Around 70 participants are expected to grace the said free seminar which will give them new insights and techniques on how to further innovate their products and upgrade their services in order to achieve service excellence and become more competitive.

“In this time when tourism remains as a sunshine industry, there is indeed a need for the different tourism stakeholders to upgrade, especially the MSMEs for them to become more competitive,” said DOT-VI Regional Director Atty. Helen Catalbas.

The seminar will be held in partnership with the Asian Development Bank to enhance the tourism competitiveness, increase employment opportunities and improve the skills of frontliners in the tourism sector.
