DOT-VI trains tourism stakeholders in Iloilo



As part of its aim of improving the products and services of various tourism stakeholders, the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI in partnership with the Asian Development Bank conducted a Tourism Enterprise Innovation and Self-Reinvention Techniques (Towards Achieving Service Excellence and Desired Results) Seminar at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel on April 5-6.

Over 70 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) attended the said free seminar which targets to assist tourism establishment owners on how to effectively and efficiently run their businesses using innovation techniques.

The said seminar is part of the Tourism Skills Training Program (TISP) of the DOT which has the main objective of upgrading the skills of tourism frontliners and partners which include tour operators, tour guides, airlines, cabin crews, and SMEs offering tourism-related products and services.

“These kinds of trainings will make our tourism stakeholders become more competitive. As we aim to provide world-class products and services, there is a need for more trainings,” said DOT-VI Regional Director Atty. Helen Catalbas.
