Retirees explore Iloilo City, Province



Honoring the contribution to society of retirees, the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI conducted the Senior Citizen Tour in the Province and City of Iloilo on September 21, 2018.

"The Senior Citizen tour is a way the Department of Tourism Region VI acknowledged the contribution to society especially in the academe of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) Retirees Association members. We want them to have relaxation and to enjoy the beauty of Iloilo City and Province. I would like also to express my gratitude for them in advance because they will also conduct research on historical places of Iloilo City and Province after the tour in order to provide broader information for the tourists coming to Western Visayas,” DOT VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas said.

The (ISAT-U) Retirees Association members visited Sta. Barbara Church and Museum and had a sight-seeing at Damires Hills in Janiuay, Iloilo. They also experience Baye-baye making in Pavia, Iloilo and Tablea Demo in Cabatuan, Iloilo.

Retirees also toured and enjoyed in Megaworld and Esplanade in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. They also explored Casa Rizaliana, Molo Mansion,Molo Church and Molo Plaza.

Meanwhile, the rolling tours of the retirees passed by Jaro Cathedral, Lizares Mansion and Nelly Garden in Jaro district.

They also paid a courtesy call on DOT VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas in the new DOT VI office at Casa Real de Iloilo.
