18th ATOP Nat’l Convention and Pearl Awards set on Oct 4-7 in Iloilo

Iloilo City is hosting another national event on October 4 to 7 as tourism officers from all over the country will gather here for the 18th ATOP National Convention and Pearl Awards.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI, the Provincial Government of Iloilo and the Iloilo City Government are now gearing for over a thousand delegates composed of tourism officers and local chief executives with their respective Tourism councils and barangay officials.

DOT-VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas earlier said that her office will be in full support to this event to ensure that Western Visayas’ hosting will be an unforgettable experience for the delegates and awardees of the ATOP.

“Hosting big events like the ATOP National Convention and Pearl Awards is an opportunity to showcase the best tourism practices, products and services of Western Visayas”, Catalbas noted.

DOT-VI committed to provide welcome lei reception at the Iloilo International Airport, Iloilo City Port, Guimaras Jordan Wharf and Bacolod City Port during the arrival of the group, promotional materials to be included in the convention kits and hosted dinner during the Pearl Awards Night.

The ATOP Pearl Awards recognizes the best of Philippine tourism industry. The awards to be given in this event will include Best Tourism Event, Best Tourism-Oriented LGU, Best Tourism Month/Week Celebration, Most Outstanding Tourism Officer, and most Outstanding Tourism Council/Club/Organization/Association.
