Roku to Power Globe Streamwatch Device


Roku Inc. and Globe Telecom announced their partnership to launch the new Globe Streamwatch device in the Philippines that is the first Roku powered device in the form of a stick. Leading the signing of the partnership are Globe Senior Vice President for Content, Nikko Acosta, Roku Director for Communications Mike Duin, Globe Chief Commercial Officer Albert de Larrazabal, Roku Director for Partner Management Andrew Bernard, Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu, Globe At Home Senior Vice President Martha Sazon, and Roku APAC Advisor Brandon Amber.

Roku Inc. (Nasdaq: ROKU) and Globe Telecom today announced the signing of a Roku Powered licensing agreement allowing Globe to leverage Roku's streaming platform including its operating system, channel store and streaming players to launch a new Globe Streamwatch device in the Philippines by November this year.
 
The new Roku powered Globe Streamwatch stick comes with its own remote and will be available to Globe At Home postpaid customers this November.

With the Roku Powered licensing program telco operators such as Globe can launch internet-delivered TV services quickly by leveraging our powerful streaming platform,” said Andrew Ferrone, vice president of pay TV at Roku.

By just plugging and activating the device, our customers will readily have access to a wealth of entertainment available at home even without cable connection.”


Globe is the first Roku Powered partner that will offer a streaming stick form factor to its customers. Globe Streamwatch users will be able to watch a variety of content across free and paid channels in different categories including sports, lifestyle, fashion, and more. It comes with three months access to top streaming services such as NETFLIX, Disney Channel Apps and HOOQ.
